Msunduzi Municipality By-Laws

The municipality has several by-laws that are used to promote standards for our community as well as protect the safety, health and welfare of our residents. Bylaws are passed by the Council.

Some of the most commonly requested bylaws are included in this section.

Municipal By-Laws

The following Bylaws are made available by the Msunduzi Municipality for the purpose of section 15 of the Municipal Systems Act, No. 32 of 2000.

  • The Municipality has embarked on a programme to review its Bylaws to ensure complaisance with legal prescripts, especially the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa Act, No. 108 of 1996.
  • Since the introduction of section 75A of the Municipal Systems Act, No. 32 of 2000 tariff fees and charges are levied by Council resolution. When these Bylaws contain such tariffs, fees or charges the reader must have regard to the Register of Tariffs published annually by the Municipality to establish the latest tariffs, fees and charges.
