"Swimming pools to stay closed" - Witness article (1 September, p 3).
It has recently been reported that all seven public swimming pools in Pietermaritzburg will remain closed until at least October, as the Msunduzi Municipality does not have the available funds to maintain them.
As a part of the Premier's Friends of our City campaign, Msunduzi Innovation and Development Institute (MIDI) will be hosting a forum to look at ways for the swimming pools to be opened to the public at an earlier date and invites all interested role players to contact us before 8th September. We hope to be able to gather some good ideas before the forum, to address the way forward.
